Conservation Halton has announced its accreditation as a Rainbow Registered organization, marking a major milestone in its commitment to inclusion and belonging for the 2SLGBTQI+ community.
The designation is administered by Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC), and it recognizes organizations that meet rigorous national standards for inclusivity in their policies, practices, and staff training.
The accreditation reflects the work of Conservation Halton’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Advisory Group, a dedicated internal team advancing equity across the organization.
“Diversity is a strength for our organization,” says Chandra Sharma, President & CEO of Conservation Halton. “Beyond our training, policies and procedures that foster safe environments for staff, our community partnerships and events help make Conservation Halton a welcoming and accepting space for all—because nature is for everyone.”
Conservation Halton joins more than 400 organizations across Canada that have earned this designation, offering visible proof to staff, visitors, and the wider community that equity and inclusion are not just words – they are actions.
Looking ahead, Conservation Halton will continue this work through its Pride in Nature events, launching June 1st. These inclusive events celebrate the 2SLGBTQI+ community through connection, learning, and outdoor enjoyment at Conservation Halton parks.
