The Town of Milton is preparing for the launch of its 2025 Asphalt Overlay Program.
It involves resurfacing streets across the community before full reconstruction becomes necessary, using data from the State of the Infrastructure and Asset Management Strategy for Roads Study, along with feasibility studies and coordination with Halton Region and utility agencies.
Construction is scheduled to begin in May and continue through the fall ,with the Town’s contractor, Associated Paving & Materials Ltd., handling the work. Residents can expect various roadwork activities including asphalt removal and paving, localized curb and sidewalk replacement, and road line repainting. Work schedules will vary by street and may pause temporarily for asphalt testing and curing before crews return to finish the job.
Throughout the project, residents should plan for short-term driveway access restrictions, lane closures, and increased construction noise and truck traffic. Although mail delivery and waste collection are not expected to be disrupted, parking may be temporarily restricted, and irrigation systems or private landscaping in public areas won’t be covered by the Town. Restoration work, including sod replacement and driveway repairs, will be completed near the end of the project, weather permitting.
“We’re committed to minimizing disruptions and ensuring safe access to homes and services throughout the work period,” the Town said in a release.
