With your votes, the North Halton Girls Hockey Association has been named the 2025 Grand Prize winner of the Kruger Big Assist program.
That means they’re receiving a total of $100,000 to help make hockey more accessible for families in the community.
The program, run by Kruger Products, provides financial support to minor hockey associations across Canada. Earlier this month, North Halton was one of five associations awarded $25,000, and after a national vote from Tuesday, April 8th – Friday, April 11th, they were chosen to receive an additional $75,000.
Located in one of Canada’s fastest-growing areas, North Halton offers inclusive programs for female athletes and plans to use the funds to offer free beginner hockey programming, lower registration fees, and provide translation services for newcomer families.
This initiative is part of Kruger’s commitment to breaking down financial and language barriers, ensuring more kids have the chance to play Canada’s game.
