The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested six people following an investigation into a stolen vehicle.
On Friday, February 7th, at roughly 3:15 a.m., officers were called to an Oakville residence in the area of Dundas Street and Sixth Line after a resident noticed thieves attempting to steal the license plate attached to the vehicle in their driveway. The resident switched on the lights to the home prompting the thieves to flee.
Police investigation eventually determined the suspects were staying in the basement of a nearby home as a short-term rental. Later that day, at roughly 11:40 a.m., officers arrested six people as they went through the drive thru of a Tim Hortons on Centennial Parkway in Hamilton in a stolen Acura SUV. During a search of the vehicle, police located tools associated with the break in and theft of vehicles.
