We’re just over a week away from the Family Day long weekend.
To celebrate Family Day on Monday, February 17th, the Town of Milton is offering a lineup of free and low-cost recreational activities. Residents can enjoy skating, swimming, sports, and fitness programs at select recreation centres throughout the day.
Here’s what’s being offered:
Milton Sports Centre
Visitors are encouraged to pick up a Family Day Passport and collect stamps by participating in key activities. Completed passports will be entered into a prize draw.
- Free public skating (sponsored by Brian’s Auto Repair)
- 10:15 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.
- Pre-registration not available; space is limited.
- Free public skating (sponsored by Roach Family Real Estate)
- 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
- Pre-registration not available; space is limited.
- Free family-focused sports and fitness activities
- Various family activities, including basketball, dodgeball, soccer, and games, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in the gymnasium.
- Free 30-minute Family Zumba classes at 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.
- Pre-registration not available; space is limited.
- Fun swims
- Regular admission applies.
- Pre-registration available and encouraged; space is limited.
- Stick ‘N Puck
- Regular admission applies.
- Pre-registration available and encouraged; space is limited.
- Free children’s drop-in activities
- Available from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the Preschool Activity Room.
- Pre-registration not available; space is limited.
- Free sensory-friendly drop-in
- 10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- Featuring fun, hands-on sensory activities for all ages and abilities.
- Pre-registration not available; capacity is limited to maintain a comfortable space.
Mattamy National Cycling Centre
- Drop-in family pickleball, badminton, table tennis, and volleyball.
- Regular admission applies.
- Pre-registration available and encouraged; space is limited.
Sherwood Community Centre
- Public skating – Rink 2
- 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- Pre-registration available and encouraged; space is limited.
- Free Fun swims
- 10:15 – 11:40 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. – 1:25 p.m.
- Pre-registration not available; space is limited.
- Stick ‘N Puck (various times)
- Regular admission applies. Pre-registration available and encouraged; space is limited.
- Free Family-Friendly Craft
- Three 60-minute sessions at 10:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 1:30 p.m.
