In the first two weeks of operation, Wellington county’s new speed cameras issued more than 7,000 tickets – and some cameras aren’t even live yet.
County roads committee chair and Mapleton Mayor Gregg Davidson said automated speed enforcement went live in the county on January 15th.
Five locations are currently operating, including community safety zones in Centre Wellington, Puslinch, Wellington North, Mapleton and Minto.
Other sites such as Guelph/Eramosa and Erin are still awaiting Hydro One approvals.
