Work is officially underway on a brand new 192-bed long-term care home in Milton.
Excelligent Care – Milton will be a four-storey home comprised of six ‘resident home areas’ (RHAs), designed to create a more intimate and familiar living space for up to 32 residents each, with dining areas, activity areas, and lounges. The home will also offer amenities like a café, hair salon, secured garden, elder-friendly surfaces and transitions, as well as family-friendly components.
It was a recipient of the Construction Funding Subsidy top-up, part of the Ontario government’s commitment to build 58,000 new and upgraded long-term care beds across the province.
“Congratulations to the team at Excelligent Care on this exciting achievement. Our government is building Ontario’s long-term care capacity to ensure seniors can remain in the communities they helped build,” said Natalia Kusendova-Bashta, Minister of Long-Term Care. “When construction is complete on the new home, 192 residents will have a modern and comfortable place to call home.”
While offering inclusive services to everyone, the home will also include one RHA that offers culturally appropriate care to Milton’s Muslim community, such as supporting prayer, ablutions, and halal food.
The first residents are expected to be welcomed in late 2026.
