Halton Student Transportation Services (HSTS) is reporting an increase in school bus delays.
They say this is due to a higher than usual rate of absenteeism. These delays will likely remain until the end of the week.
Residents can monitor all school bus delays online here.
Earlier this month, HSTS issued a reminder to residents regarding inclement weather. Parents will be notified of the decision to cancel transportation services and/or close schools due to inclement weather by 6:30 a.m. This will be done primarily through the media. Learn more here.
While the colder weather hasn’t kicked in just yet, it’s important to be ware of how cancellations will affect you and your family. The decision to cancel transportation services could be applied to the entire Halton Region or based on a particular zone. Pay attention to the bus cancellation message if your child/children travels from one zone to another for a specialized program. If your child travels into or through a zone where the transportation is cancelled, then there will be no transportation provided for your child that day.
