The suspects are frequently hitting Oakville homes that back onto green space and trail systems. These break and enters have taken place during daytime and evening hours but have peaked between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Thieves typically enter through the rear door of the home and once inside will go after cash, jewelry, and luxury items. Occasionally, thieves have also utilized ladders to access second story windows and balconies.
HRPS is reminding residents to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious persons, vehicles or activity to police.
