The Ontario Clean Water Agency has started planning dead-end hydrant flushing in Hillsburgh and Erin for spring watermain maintenance.
Residents may experience discoloured water after flushing and are advised to flush their systems by taking the screens off their taps and running the cold water for approximately five minutes.
Those with water softeners advised to put their units on “bypass” in order to avoid having excessive material pass through the systems.
Residents are encouraged to fill a jug with water and refrigerate it before the flushing to keep for drinking and cooking during this process.
The flushing process is scheduled to go May 15th to 17th.
