Nine student-athletes from The Hill Academy in Caledon are celebrating their selection in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection Draft.
The Hill’s draft class includes six selections in the first three rounds, including three first rounders.
The OHL Priority Selection Draft is an annual event that dates back to the late 1960’s, and is typically based on reverse order of the overall regular season standings beginning with non-playoff teams.

9: Alex McLean, Guelph Storm
17: Brady Smith, Oshawa Generals
21: Kohyn Eshkawkogan, Ottawa 67s
Round Two:
29: Kent Greer, North Bay Battalion
32: Blake Gowan, Peterborough Petes
Round Three:
62: Elliott Arnett, Owen Sound Attack
Round Five:
88: Luca Bonomo, Ottawa 67s
Round 7:
140: Nolan Long, Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds
Round 11:
218: Sam Rivet, North Bay Battalion
“This is a testament to how hard they have worked, and we’re thrilled to see them reach their next highest level of achievement,” said The Hill Academy’s Director of Hockey, Ryan Toomey.
“The real work starts now though, and as excited as I was to see them drafted, I was even more proud to see them back in the gym this morning.”
Many of these student athletes have been with the Hill throughout their developmental years, attending the school from Grade 5 on.
