The Milton Menace continue the best regular season in their early franchise’s history.
On Monday, February 26th, the Menace went into Cobourg to play the Cougars at the Cobourg Community Centre.
With 693 people in attendance, the Menace started off strong. Gavin Sheehan scored first, netting his 8th of the year with help from Jayden Levesque. Just under three minutes later, Alessandro Petreccia buried his 13th of the season, assisted by Tristan Tremble and Justin O’Donnell. The Menace carried a 2-0 lead into the first intermission.
The second period was uneventful for the Menace, as Cobourg was able to score a shorthanded goal to bring the game within one. It was 2-1 after 40-minutes of action.
In the third period, Joseph Maccione continued his red hot streak, scoring his ninth of the season. The powerplay marker was assisted by Graeme Macauley and captain Connor Driscoll. Cobourg got one back at the 6:38 mark. Shortly after, the floodgates opened for the Menace. Aidan Puley was first, scoring his 29th goal, assisted by Driscoll and Madden MacDougall. With less than four minutes left, Ivan Fabjan scored his 21st goal, assisted by MacDougall and Gavin Sheehan. O’Donnell then capped off the night with his 18th goal. The lone assist was credited to Alexander Siletsky. Milton beat Cobourg 6-2.
In net for Milton was Forbes Andersen, as he stopped 21 of 23 shots, giving him a .913% save percentage.
Next up for the Menace is a game against the Oakville Blades on Wednesday, February 28th. Game-time at the Milton Memorial Arena is set for 1:00 p.m. Menace home tickets for this OJHL season can be found here.
