The Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC) says its ‘Fill a Crib’ campaign for the Infant Food Bank was a huge success!
Each year, the MCRC collects donations via filling cribs, valued at $500 each. These donations then stock the food bank’s supply. They have 165 babies with parents using the food bank. The parents get to meet with a facilitator and find out which items they need, and they get these items every month.

Director of Fund Development, Family & Community Engagement, Tina Bulicek, says they went into this year’s campaign with a goal of 60 cribs. They more than doubled that number.
With roughly 130 cribs filled, valued at $500, the community has raised around $65,000 for the Infant Food Bank.
Since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, the MCRC has seen their numbers increase by 55% for the Infant Food Bank. Bulicek says it gets hard keeping up with demand and buying all these items for families. That’s why they look forward to campaigns like Fill a Crib because the donations help them assist local families in need.
With the amount raised, they’re blown away by the support.

Coming up, the MCRC has their Youth Dance Party, which you can learn about here. They will also have their All For Her 5k run in June.
