Sir Chaudhry Muhammad Zafrulla Khan was an Ahmadi Muslim, Pakistani jurist and diplomat who served as the first Foreign Minister of Pakistan. After serving as foreign minister he continued his international career and is the only Pakistani to preside over the International Court of Justice. He also served as the President of the UN General Assembly. He is the only person to date to serve as the President of both the UN General Assembly and the International Court of Justice.
Every year the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Canada awards one distinguished individual who exemplifies the qualities of Sir Zafrulla Khan during the annual Jalsa Salana in Mississauga, the largest and longest running annual Muslim convention in Canada. With COVID impacting past years, Mayor Krantz actually received the 2021 award. Over 21,000 people were in attendance this past weekend and many thousand more watched via live stream.
