UPDATE
The black bear has been tranquilized and removed the tree it was stationed in.
The Ministry of Natural Resources was called in to assist with the situation.
Following the tranquilizer, the HRPS says the bear will be relocated.
A black bear has been spotted in Georgetown.
It was seen in the area of McKinnon Avenue and Barber Drive.
Officers are on scene.
Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) are asking foot traffic to avoid the area and for bystanders to move along.
A black bear had also reportedly been seen near Georgetown District High School earlier in the day. It’s unknown if this was the same bear.
