Dufferin OPP are currently investigating a stolen mini excavator and trailer, in which the driver fled from police in East Garafraxa.
On April 16th, shortly after 1:30 p.m., Dufferin OPP attempted to stop a pickup truck hauling a mini excavator for speeding on Townline in East Garafraxa.
The driver failed to stop when officers activated their emergency equipment, signalling the driver to pull over.
Due to the driver’s high speed, officers did not pursue the vehicle for public safety.
The suspect vehicle is described as a 2005-2010 Chevrolet 2500, pickup truck, white in colour, towing an orange Kubota mini excavator on a tri-axle trailer.
At one point the driver got out of the vehicle on Highpoint Drive to unhook the trailer.
The mini excavator and trailer was recovered and returned to the owner. The excavator was stolen from a worksite in Bradford.
Investigators are seeking assistance from anyone that may have dashcam video of information to please contact Dufferin OPP.
