A fundraiser is being held for a Milton woman who was attacked with an acid-like chemical.
On Thursday, March 9th at roughly 1:25 p.m., Bradi McCoy was walking in the area of Syer Drive and Maxted Crescent in Milton when she was approached by someone. The threw an unknown chemical onto the victim which caused severe burns to her face and body. The suspect then took McCoy’s cell phone and fled the scene. McCoy was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, a family member of McCoy, was eventually found the next week in Montreal and was arrested.
In the month since, $115,528 has been raised for McCoy through a GoFundMe page. The money is being given directly to her and will be used for her ongoing recovery and any future expenses.
The fundraiser event will be on Friday, April 14th at The Rad Brothers Sports Bar and Tap House at 550 Ontario Street South in Milton. It will start at noon, with a live band set to go on stage after 6:00 p.m. Milton’s resident magician, Tyler Fergus, will also be in the building going around performing for attendees.
The event is open for all to attend, you can drop in and donate or you can stay and enjoy the atmosphere!
