Mayor Lisa Post and Councillor Debbie Sherwood have proclaimed this week as Heritage Week in the Town of Orangeville.
This year’s theme is Recovering and Connecting our Heritage – Stronger Together.
Did you know!
Construction of Orangeville’s Town Hall began in 1875 as a multipurpose building, which included use for a market.
The building remained in its original form until 1993 to 1994, when it was renovated and a major addition was added.
To this day, it continues to serve multiple purposes as Town Hall, host of the Orangeville Opera House, and hosting the indoor winter market annually.
Celebrate our many heritage buildings by checking out the historic walking tour ‘Footsteps from our Past’.
