The Town of Orangeville is hosting a Public Meeting which will review the Parks and Events Bylaw and Zoning Applications for 330 Blind Line and 515 Broadway.
During this meeting, members of the public are invited to learn more about both matters and provide their input.
The meeting will be held tonight starting at 7 p.m. and will be held both in-person at Town Hall and streamed on the Town’s Youtube Channel.
About the Parks and Events By-law:
The Parks and Events By-law covers activities and permits that apply to recreational activities, animal permits, the film industry, and more.
Some of the key issues under review include:
- Trail use, the prohibition of off-road vehicles and vehicles on regular and multi-use trails (with the exception of bicycles and power-assisted bicycles)
- The use of barbeques in Town Parks with a permit
- Keeping exotic animals as pets with a permit
- Film production permits
- Restrictions related to remotely piloted aircraft (drones)
About the Zoning Application for 515 Broadway:
- Request a zoning by-law amendment to permit a residential development on the north side of Broadway, East of Veterans Way
- The development proposed would include 57 townhouse dwellings on a private road, 130 parking space and a 1,246 square metre parkette
About the Planning Application: 330 Blind Line:
- Request for a zoning by-law amendment to sever a portion of the property at 330 Blind Line to allow for a single-detached dwelling to be built. The application is being made due to a current 2-story single-detached heritage home on the property. If approved, it would allow for both dwellings to exist on the same property with access from a private driveway.
