The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested four people in relation to an auto theft investigation in Oakville.
On Friday, January 6th, just after 8:00 a.m., the HRPS was notified by Peel Police of a 2022 Toyota Highlander that was stolen from a Mississauga residence earlier that morning. An investigation indicated that the stolen vehicle was in the area of Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. HRPS investigators attended the area and observed the vehicle. At roughly 10:00 a.m. a male suspect was dropped off by a Honda Civic with a Quebec licence plate. The suspect entered the stolen Highlander and was arrested by police. The Honda Civic was stopped a short time later driving on Highway 403 in Burlington and three male suspects were also arrested. The Honda Civic was not stolen.
18-year-old Gabriel Akokanne of Quebec, 21-year-old Rock Desvarieux of Quebec, 18-year-old Iliasse Idlhaj of Quebec, and 21-year-old Nathanael Lembani of Quebec were all charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
All parties were released on Undertakings.
