The latest impaired driving report from the Halton Police is now available.
It shows nine cases across Halton last week:
On Monday, December 5th, Halton Regional Police Service officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Campbellville Road and First Line Nassagaweya in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 30-year-old Hamilton was charged with operation while impaired.
On Monday, December 5th, Halton Regional Police Service officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Eighth Line and Lower Base Line East in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 54-year-old Mississauga man was charged with operation while impaired and failure or refusal to comply with demand.
On Tuesday, December 6th, Halton Regional Police Service officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Appleby Line and Ironstone Drive in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 38-year-old Burlington man was charged with operation while impaired.
On Wednesday, December 7th, Halton Regional Police Service officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. initiative in the area of Chisholm Drive and Martin Street in Milton. As a result of this initiative, a 56-year-old Guelph man was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Wednesday, December 7th, Halton Regional Police Service officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. initiative in the area of James Snow Parkway and Main Street in Milton. As a result of this initiative, a 41-year-old Newmarket man was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Thursday, December 8th, Halton Regional Police Service officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area Cornwall Road and Kerr Street in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 26-year-old Stoney Creek woman was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Thursday, December 8th, Halton Regional Police Service officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Sixth Line and North Service Road East in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 28-year-old Milton man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Thursday, December 8th, Halton Regional Police Service officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area Iroquois Shore Road and Eighth Line in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 33-year-old Milton man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Friday, December 9th, Halton Regional Police Service officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Appleby Line and Upper Middle Road in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 26-year-old Toronto man was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
Remember, driving under the influence is considered a crime in progress. Call 9-1-1 if you suspect that someone on the road is driving impaired.
Here are some signs of an impaired driver provided by the Halton Police:
- Driving unreasonably fast, slow or at an inconsistent speed;
- Drifting in and out of lanes;
- Tailgating and changing lanes frequently;
- Making exceptionally wide turns;
- Changing lanes or passing without sufficient clearance;
- Overshooting or stopping well before stop signs or stop lights;
- Disregarding signals and lights;
- Approaching signals or leaving intersections too quickly or slowly;
- Driving without headlights, failing to lower high beams or leaving turn signals on; and,
- Driving with windows open in cold or inclement weather.
The HRPS says that its officers remain committed to road safety through prevention, education, and enforcement initiatives.
