The CUPE strike has come to an end on the promise to rescind Bill 28 by Ontario Premier Doug Ford.
Education workers like custodial staff and educational assistants had been striking since Friday morning.
On Thursday afternoon, Premier Ford and Education Minister of Ontario Stephen Lecce passed Bill 28, also known as the ‘Keeping Students in Class Act, 2022’.
The act would make it illegal for education workers to strike. Read the bill here.
Students in the Upper Grand District School Board, Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board, and the Wellington Catholic School Board will return to class on Tuesday, November 8th.
