The latest impaired driving report from the Halton Police is now available.
It shows three cases across Halton last week. Fortunately, None of them involved Milton:
On Tuesday, October 11th, Halton Police officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Chartwell Road and Lakeshore Road in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 20-year-old Oakville man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Thursday, October 13th, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Third Line and North Service Road in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 63-year-old Oakville man was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Thursday, October 13th, Halton Police officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Plains Road East and Falcon Boulevard in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 27-year-old Burlington woman was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
Remember, driving under the influence is considered a crime in progress. Call 9-1-1 if you suspect that someone on the road is driving impaired.
Here are some signs of an impaired driver provided by the Halton Police:
- Driving unreasonably fast, slow or at an inconsistent speed;
- Drifting in and out of lanes;
- Tailgating and changing lanes frequently;
- Making exceptionally wide turns;
- Changing lanes or passing without sufficient clearance;
- Overshooting or stopping well before stop signs or stop lights;
- Disregarding signals and lights;
- Approaching signals or leaving intersections too quickly or slowly;
- Driving without headlights, failing to lower high beams or leaving turn signals on; and,
- Driving with windows open in cold or inclement weather.
The HRPS says that its officers remain committed to road safety through prevention, education, and enforcement initiatives.
