The fun starts July 1st with opening ceremonies and cake at 11:45 a.m., with free activities planned until 5 p.m., at the Alder Recreation Centre at 275 Alder Street.
The main stage, in the red rink, will feature international award-winning magician and mentalist Mike D’Urzo.
His “Mind Kontrol” show will take place from 12:30-1:30 p.m. and be repeated 3:30-4:40 p.m.
Activities throughout the afternoon will include a family fun zone with inflatables in the green rink, face painting, an airbrush tattoo artist, a professional photo booth, colouring and crafts, MOSSA fitness demos, and B Social Café food services.
Over at Island Lake Conservation Area, a Canada Day concert will feature Jay Kipps and the Over Under Band from 6:30p.m.-9:00p.m.
Entry fees are free for children ages 0-5, $3 for youths 6-14, $6.50 for adults 15-64, $5 for seniors 65+, maximum charge per vehicle (up to six people) is $27, and no charge for park pass holders.
On July 2, the fireworks are set for 10 p.m. on July 2 over Island Lake.
Regular admission applies for most of the day. After 9 p.m. it is free to come into the park, donations are being accepted in lieu of admission fees.
