The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, May 23rd and Monday, May 30th, there were at least 22 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A property crime case on Laurier Avenue on Monday, May 23rd;
- a property crime case on James Snow Parkway North on Monday, May 23rd;
- a breaking and entering case on Derry Road on Monday, May 23rd;
- an assault case on Ontario Street North on Tuesday, May 24th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Steeles Avenue East on Tuesday, May 24th;
- a property crime case on Harrop Drive on Tuesday, May 24th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Yates Drive on Tuesday, May 24th;
- an assault case at Bennett Boulevard and Clark Boulevard on Tuesday, May 24th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Steeles Avenue on Tuesday, May 24th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Yates Drive on Wednesday, May 25th;
- an assault case on Martin Street on Wednesday, May 25th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Alliance Road on Wednesday, May 25th;
- an assault case on Thompson Road on Wednesday, May 25th;
- a breaking and entering case on Guelph Line in Campbellville on Wednesday, May 25th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Baldwin Court on Thursday, May 26th;
- a property crime case on Childs Drive on Thursday, May 26th;
- a quality of life case on Martin Street on Thursday, May 26th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Guelph Line in Campbellville on Thursday, May 26th;
- a breaking and entering case on Mill Street on Friday, May 27th;
- a theft case on Cleve Court on Saturday, May 28th;
- a robbery at Carding Mill and Sixth Line on Saturday, May 28th; and,
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue on Saturday, May 28th.
Of the 22 cases of crime, nine were theft cases of some kind, four were assault cases, four were property crime cases, three were breaking and entering cases, one was a quality of life case, and one was a robbery.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
