The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, February 7th, and Monday, February 14th there were at least 26 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- An assault case on Main Street East on Monday, February 7th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Whitney Terrace on Monday, February 7th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Cochrane Terrace on Monday, February 7th;
- an assault case on Steeles Avenue on Monday, February 7th;
- a breaking and entering case on Sixth Line on Tuesday, February 8th;
- a pair of theft of vehicle cases on Steeles Avenue on Tuesday, February 8th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Industrial Drive on Tuesday, February 8th;
- an assault case on Williams Avenue on Tuesday, February 8th;
- an assault case at Raspberry Terrace and Whitlock Avenue on Tuesday, February 8th;
- an assault case on Peddie Road on Tuesday, February 8th;
- an assault case on Scott Boulevard on Wednesday, February 9th;
- a theft case on Kingsleigh Court on Wednesday, February 9th;
- an assault case on Martin Street on Wednesday, February 9th;
- a theft case on Derry Road on Wednesday, February 9th;
- an assault case on Ferguson Drive on Wednesday, February 9th;
- a theft case on Thompson Road on Wednesday, February 9th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Anderson Avenue on Wednesday, February 9th;
- a theft case on Raspberry Terrace on Friday, February 11th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Main Street East on Friday, February 11th;
- a property crime case on Galbraith Boulevard on Friday, February 11th;
- a theft from vehicle case at Hepburn Road and Yates Drive on Friday, February 11th;
- a property crime case on Main Street East on Saturday, February 12th;
- a breaking and entering case on Restivo Lane on Sunday, February 13th;
- a robbery case on Maple Avenue on Sunday, February 13th; and,
- an assault case on Bronte Street South on Sunday, February 13th.
Of the 26 cases of crime, 12 were theft cases of some kind, nine were assault cases, two property crime cases, two were breaking and entering cases, and one was a robbery.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
