The Milton Legion is selling signs ahead of Remembrance Day.
The money raised from the signs is going towards the Townsend Smith Hospice Foundation. Poppy Co-Chair for this year Sameera Ali says she wanted to find a way to fundraise using lawn signs.
Ali adds that it’s important to bring a hospice to North Halton, saying it’s a necessary service that our community needs. With the Milton Legion also raising funds for Townsend Smith through the ongoing bottle drive, Ali speaks to the partnership between the two organizations.
The lawn signs are $20 each, cash only. You can buy them at the Milton Legion (branch #136) at 21 Charles Street in Milton. Ali says you just need to walk in and ask for the signs.
We have less than ten days until Remembrance Day. You can read about 13-year-old Nadia Karipidis of Milton, who paused for a moment of silence at the local cenotaph to commemorate the veteran members of The War Amps.
