A Caledon driver is facing charges, after hitting an officer while directing traffic.
On September 10th, While in the process of clearing the intersection of Mayfield Road and Kennedy Road from a two-vehicle collision, a vehicle entered the intersection, struck the officer and drove away.
The vehicle was stopped by another officer a short distance away, and the driver was arrested.
As a result, a 53-year-old driver from Caledon was charged with Careless Driving and Disobeying an Officer Directing Traffic.
The officer did not sustain any injuries as a result of being struck by the vehicle.
