Caledon OPP is investigating a string of break and enters that occurred along Airport Road in Caledon East


Both incidents occurred overnight this past Sunday and Monday.

The suspect had gained entry through the front door by smashing the glass panel.

In both instances, a cash register was targeted by the suspect.

The suspect is described as a male, light complexion, medium build, about 5’10”; wearing a black baseball hat, black mask, black jacket with hoodie, black shoes and dark-coloured pants.

Here are some preventative measures that the Caledon OPP recommends adopting to protect your business from a break and enter:

• Remove all cash from the till and leave it open. Place the cash tray in clear view on the counter to indicate the till is empty.

• If you have an alarm system, post signage on all doors and windows to indicate premises are monitored by an alarm company.

• Clean all glass surfaces and create a log of when cleaning was completed. This can assist police during an investigation with fingerprints if a break in occurs.

• Keep some lighting on inside for surveillance opportunities during the evening.

• Remove material around the exterior of property that may be used to gain entry into the premises.
