This year, Orangeville businesses will be permitted to set up outdoor displays and expand patios on town boulevards.
From April 1st until November 30th, merchants will be allowed to take up 2.5 ft of boulevard space outside their facades, and from May 1st until November 30th, restaurants will be entitled to two parking spaces for patios.
However, councillor Debbie Sherwood questioned director of parks and recs, Ray Osmond about the discrepancy in timelines.
Director of public works, Doug Jones also informed council that businesses will have to dismantle their outdoor furniture if it gets in the way of sidewalk rehabilitation work that’s scheduled this fall.
