
With their kettle campaign falling victim to the coronavirus, the first-ever Wheels for Meals proved a lifesaver for the Salvation Army in Orangeville.
The two-week fundraiser undertaken this month in five markets across the province raised $47,000, of which just under $14,000 is earmarked for Orangeville.
Dan Millar with the Salvation Army calls the campaign result “amazing.”
One dollar from every tire sold was donated to the Salvation Army and local ministries. Lyssa da Costa of Tire Discounter Group says without a doubt, this will become an annual campaign in December.
