Shelburne deputy mayor, Steve Anderson is giving Dufferin County a nudge to close local public transit gaps.
Anderson put forward a notice of motion for the upcoming Dufferin County council meeting instructing county staff to look into leasing an Orangeville Transit bus to service the rest of the county.
He says now that people are starting to return to work or are heading back to the office, it was an opportune moment to resume these talks.
And although Grey County’s public transit recently began servicing areas of Dufferin, Anderson says it’s still not enough.
Last year, Anderson brought forth the idea he calls a ‘made in Dufferin’ solution to local transit gaps, since it doesn’t rely on GO transit, but the initiative was shelved because of COVID-19.
