The Town of Mono is extending an invitation to its residents to celebrate Flight of the Monarchs Day.
Held on August 22nd, Flight of the Monarchs Day is an opportunity to protect monarch butterflies and their long distance migration journey southwards.
Residents can participate in three different ways: by entering the town’s colouring contest, posting pollinator-friendly gardens to social media with hashtags #feeltheflutter and #inmono, and learning more about the flight of monarchs.
The colouring contest will award one child per three different age groups with a prize.
The contest closes on August 9th and winners will be announced on the August 21st.
Registration and participation information can be found here.
