Former Orangeville town councillor Sylvia Bradley presented a plan this past Monday night to town council to redevelop Alexandra Park into a new town plaza, which includes moving the cenotaph to a new location.
Orangeville BIA has endorsed the plan which isn’t sitting well with the Orangeville Legion.
Orangeville Legion President Barry Kimbler says there was never any consultation with the Legion prior to the presentation.
Kimbler says as far as he is concerned the park is hallowed ground and the cenotaph is a representation of those soldiers who gave their lives for our country and never returned home from overseas.
