Stage 2 of the province’s reopening strategy includes some recreation facility.
So what does that mean for Orangeville’s recreation facilities and programs?
Town staff are currently going through Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health’s guidelines for reopening these services.
General manager of community services, Ray Osmond says so far the town has gone through various program scenarios, but now must develop protocols that take into consideration specific restrictions for physical distancing, limits on the number of patrons, and rules for what amenities can and can’t be opened.
The Town will take a phased approach to reopening and currently plans are underway for reopening pools, splash pads and an Active Orangeville Youth Summer Series program.
Over on the indoor facilities side of things, the town must put in place physical modifications and signage to ensure physical distancing.
