Ontario premier Doug Ford told reporters today (Apr. 27) that the province is beginning to flatten the COVID-19 curve before he announced a vague plan on how to reopen the economy.
On Friday (Apr. 24), Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health spokesperson, Chuck Ferguson told myFM News at this point, it’s still too premature to tell if there’s a flattening pattern and residents should assume they can contract the coronavirus anywhere in the community.
As of this morning, Public Health is reporting 3 more COVID-19 related deaths in Dufferin County, bringing the total to 11, but it remains unclear if they’re associated with long term care homes.
There are 257 COVID-19 cases in the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph region — 42 in Wellington County, 102 in Dufferin County and 105 in Guelph.
