Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health have declared a COVID-19 outbreakĀ at Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville.
Six new cases were reported at the hospital in the last 24 hours after five workers and a patient tested positive.
In a news release, the hospital says the patient was immediately put into isolation by medical professionals wearing protective gear after arriving.
They say the five staff who tested positive worked in the same wing, were sent home, and told to isolate themselves for 14 days.
They say there is no connection between the five workers and the patient.
Hospital CEO Kim Delahunt says she expects more cases as the virus continues to spread.
