As of Monday (Mar. 30), COVID-19 cases in the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph region have almost quadrupled.
Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health reports a total of 26 coronavirus cases, 18 of which were just confirmed in the past 2 days.
Of those 26 cases, one has been resolved, 13 are in Guelph, 4 are in Wellington County and 8 are in Dufferin County.
Two cases are travel-related, 5 are from direct contact from a confirmed COVID-19 case, 2 are community acquired and 17 are yet to be determined.
Nine cases are self-isolating and another 3 are in hospital.
Public Health warns the number of confirmed cases is only part of the picture and a low case number doesn’t mean there’s a low risk of contracting COVID-19 in the community.
