A staff member at Dufferin Oaks Long Term Care Home has tested positive for COVID-19.
The County of Dufferin says the staff member has not been onsite since first exhibiting symptoms and is currently isolated at home.
Dufferin Oaks and Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health is working to identify residents or staff who may have been in close contact with the affected staff members.
The unit has closed and all residents are self-isolating in their rooms, as a precaution.
Dufferin County says none of the residents are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, and staff are closely monitoring them.
Families of residents in self-isolation are being contacted to update them of these new measures and to provide support and answer questions.
