It’s business as usual for local McDonald’s restaurant owner, Rory MacKinnon.
Yesterday (Mar. 18), premier Doug Ford declared a state of emergency and with that, ordered all restaurants to halt dine-in services and instead resort to delivery and drive-thru options.
MacKinnon says his delivery numbers are up and drive-in volumes are in line with those before the provincial order.
But there’s been a changes to food service practices which include an extra 2-3 hour-long kitchen deep clean.
MacKinnon says he feels lucky his restaurants support drive-thru deliveries and says his heart goes out to those who are not equipped to offer the option.
