A COVID-19 assessment centre held outside of Headwaters Health Care Centre is in the works.
The assessment centre will be a self-contained, semi-permanent, hard-sided tent located at the top of the parking lot at 140 Rolling Hills Drive.
The makeshift facility will run in a drive-thru style, with vehicles entering the centre and patients being looked over in their cars.
Based on symptoms, patients may be assessed for COVID-19 and receive next steps in care.
Headwaters Hospital says the assessment centre poses no risk to attendees.
It will be open seven days a week from 8 am until 8 pm, and will be staffed by local physicians.
HHCC spokesperson, Jennifer Hamilton says she doesn’t have an opening date yet, as the hospital is heavily in planning mode at the moment, but she hopes it’ll be up and running by the end of the week.
