A recording studio, coffeehouse, daycare and shared work space.
That’s what’s being proposed in Shelburne by Streams Community Hub, who went before council asking for free land to build the youth-centered arts space.
Mayor Wade Mills says council agreed to support the idea in principal because there’s a need for it in town.
Streams’ spearheaders, Andrew and Julianne Charles say the initiative’s $4 million construction cost will be paid using federal grants, donations and private sector partners.
Once funding is secured, the project is expected to be built over 1 to 2 years.
