The community is doing what it can to help a Hockley Valley family rebuild its bakery after it burned down on December 12.
Simon Silander, owner of 100 Acre Bakery, walked outside to an orange glow late that night. A fire inside the bakery located on his property destroyed everything.
Silander has operated the bakery in Hockley Valley for about seven years and is well known for handcrafted organic breads.
The family was set to open a store in Caledon East in the New Year, but the fire has put that on hold.
Family friend Emma Holmes Hepburn has launched a GoFundMe campaign to collect money that will help Silander rebuild.
