Police allege six teens are responsible for a break and enter and 10 robberies that occurred between Oct. 18, 2019 and Nov. 25. in Toronto and Orangeville.
The suspects were arrested on Monday morning during a break and enter investigation at a Toronto school.
According to police, in each case, several suspects entered retail stores while attempting to disguise their identities and one of the suspects was usually armed with a knife.
The suspects would allegedly demand money and assault an employee(s) by punching and kicking them.
Items stolen from the stores include cash, cigarettes, vaping products, and lottery tickets.
Police have arrested 18-year-old Ronald Irakoze from Toronto, four 17-year-olds and a 13-year-old.
More than 170 charges have been laid. Charges include robbery, robbery with an offensive weapon, possession of weapon, disguise with intent, and breaking and entering.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a 14-year-old suspect.
Police did not identify the locations of the robberies, however, Orangeville Police reported an attempted robbery at Broadway Convenience on Oct. 29.
