With two weeks to go until the federal election, political bigwigs continue make stops in Dufferin-Caledon.
Navdeep Bains, minister of Innovation Science and Economic Development and Liberal candidate for Mississauga-Malton, was in Orangeville last Friday (Oct. 4).
He visited E. Hofmann Plastics to see the fruits of a $5.6-million FedDev Ontario grant. That money will help the manufacturer produce new recyclable and compostable trays for meat packaging as well as recyclable coffee pods made from plant-based resin.
CEO Paul Kalia says the initiative is underway.
Bains says it was important for the Liberals to make investments, particularly in smaller communities.
E. Hofmann Plastics plans to invest an additional $16.8-million.
