Orangeville’s only Francophone school will be open on Monday (Oct. 7).
The Conseil scolaire Viamonde says schools, including École élémentaire des Quatre-Rivières, will be operating as normal, even if CUPE members go on strike.
“We have put in motion various contingency measures in the event custodial and maintenance staff at Viamonde schools proceed with strike action,” states a press release.
CUPE doesn’t represent administrative and educational support staff.
The school board is warning parents that a strike could last longer than it anticipates and is advising them to find alternative childcare services if schools aren’t able to welcome students later next week or the following week.
