A 21-year marriage is coming to an end. The Township of East Garafraxa is moving its administration operations back into its municipal boundary.
Karen Canivet, acting CAO/Clerk, says the township is currently negotiating a lease agreement to move into the Community Living Dufferin facility on Dufferin Road 3.
East Garafraxa’s administration staff have been working out of Amaranth Town Hall since 1999.
Canivet adds that with both municipalities growing in size, things were getting busy for town staff.
Before moving to Amaranth Town Hall, East Garafraxa had its own municipal office in Marsville.
Canivet says that Susan Stone, who is the CAO/Clerk for both municipalities, and deputy clerk Jessica Kennedy will make the move to East Gary.
The move is expected to occur in January.
