Shelburne councillor Lindsay Wagner wants to ensure that cats and dogs are never sold in local pet stores.
Wagner made a notice of motion at council’s most recent meeting to have staff create a bylaw that prohibits the sale of animals, not knowing that one already existed.
With a bylaw already in place, Wagner says she wants to do more research and close any potential loopholes that might permit a store to sell animals.
