The Conservative Party of Canada(CPC) will hold a second nomination vote on Wednesday (July 31) in Dufferin-Caledon to select a candidate for the upcoming federal election.
There are four candidates running: Barb Shaughnessy, Jeremy Williams, Kyle Seeback, and Gurminder Gill.
The nomination meeting is being held at the Orangeville Agriculture Society Event Centre and gets underway at 5 p.m. with candidate speeches. Voting will open right after the speeches and close at 9 p.m.. You must have been a registered member of the party prior to July 4.
This is the CPC’s second nomination in the Dufferin-Caledon riding. The first nomination held in March was won by Harzadan Singh Khattra.
However, his victory was appealed by Shaughnessy. She alleged Khattra of identity and residence tampering, membership reimbursement, and payments to foreign students for attending the meeting.
In April, the CPC removed Khattra as the candidate despite his appeal that he had done nothing wrong.
