A man who shot at a vehicle in an Orangeville neighbourhood in July 2017 has been sentenced to 95.5 months in jail.
Brandon Omardeen has been credited for 34.5 months for time already served.
Court heard that Omardeen was in a vehicle being driven by his brother that drove past the home of Manav Lahore and swore at him on July 31, 2017. It was in response to a road rage incident a few days earlier.
Lahore and a friend later drove to Omardeen’s house in the Highway 10 and 9 area and were chased away by Omardeen and his brother, who pointed an imitation handgun at them.
Lahore and his friend returned in their vehicle a short time later and Omardeen came out of the garage with a loaded rifle and shot at the vehicle.
The bullet struck the upper side of the passenger door frame.
At the time of incident, Omardeen was out on bail for assault charges and was also on probation and serving time intermittently for prior convictions. He had been convicted of 18 offences as a youth and 22 offences as an adult.
